The following image shows the underneath of the aquarium hood, and shows the built in condensation tray, it also shows a hole in the condensation tray, which allows you to feed the fish without lifting the hood, the hood comes with a plastic cap to cover this hole.









In the front compartment you should house the lighting tube, the following image shows the front compartment with the lid open, the electric leads for the light tube pass through the hole from the rear into the front compartment. Please note because the end caps extend over the end of the aquarium, you can house a full length tube in this hood, example buy a 24 inch tube with a 24 inch hood. When you install the tube it needs to be placed into the compartment at an angle one end first to get it to fit in.

The rear compartment can be used to house the control gear if you wish, the image shows the hood with the rear lid raised, again you can clearly see the holes for the lighting cables. This image also shows the hood endcaps, which extend over the ends of the aquarium allowing a full length tube to be installed as mentioned earlier.

Lighting is very important as it brings out the colours in your fish, ideally you should change the light tubes on your aquarium every 12 months.
